Do your research! Find out if the bakery you plan to use bakes from scratch because it makes a world of difference. A quick way to find out is to ask if their products contain propylene glycol mono, an additive that is used in most cake mixes. If they can't tell you right then and there whether or not their products contain this additive, then more than likely they are using a cake mix.
