Step 5 of how to plan your wedding like a pro

You and your partner have decided on a cake you like. What's next? First, you will want to be sure to ask your bakery if they deliver and setup and the costs. Nothing is worse than having to set up your own cake. Second, you will want to make sure what time they are delivering and setting up. Timing is everything! If you have a buttercream cake & an indoor wedding they should arrive no more than 2 hours before the wedding, and if you have a buttercream cake & an outdoor wedding they should arrive no more than an hour before the wedding. I would strongly encourage you to have a fondant cake for your outdoor wedding, especially in the south. Lastly, you will want to talk with caterers and reception venue about the cake table and location (i.e., you don't want cake in direct sunlight at your outdoor wedding) and you will want to get EVERYTHING IN WRITING.  Your bakery should provide you with a detailed contract/invoice that explains their company policies, deposits to secure your date and final payment, and the details of your wedding cake. Read over all contracts carefully and if changes are made be sure to get an updated copy for your records. Also be sure to book as soon as possible and secure your date because cake prices are driven by food prices that usually increase twice a year or more.  So be sure to lock your price in as much as a year in advance to avoid the increase.  #weddingcake #weddingplanner #madefromscratch #deliveryandshipping #weddingpro #diywedding #sumterbakery #onamissionforchildren#carasmaticcreations #buttercream#fondant #wedding #nuptials #weddingvenue #gettingmarried #Ido #outdoorwedding #indoorwedding #bakery #glutenfree
